The Ravens are in the free agent safety market, as they reportedly are having three-time Pro Bowl safety Jamal Adams in for a visit, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Adams, 28, is a three-time Pro Bowler (2018-2020). The No. 6-overall pick in 2017 spent his first three seasons with the New York Jets, quickly establishing himself as one of the most feared safeties in the league.

He was traded to the Seattle Seahawks in 2020 for a haul that included two first-round picks. In 2021, Adams signed a four-year deal that made him, at the time, the highest-paid safety in the league.

The past few seasons have been tougher, however. Adams suffered a torn labrum near the end of the 2021 season, then a torn quad in Week 1 of 2022 knocked him out for the rest of the season. He dealt with a concussion last year and was limited to just nine games. The Seahawks released him on March 5.

The Ravens are looking for additional safety depth after the loss of Geno Stone to Cincinnati in free agency this offseason. Stone played 82% of the defensive snaps last season, filling in for injured Marcus Williams in 11 starts.

While the Ravens' third safety likely won't see that much action in 2024, barring injuries, it's still an important position in Baltimore's versatile defense.

As of now, the leading contenders for the job behind Kyle Hamilton and Williams are Ar'Darius Washington, who has played in eight games over his first three seasons, seventh-round rookie Sanoussi Kane, and undrafted rookies Beau Brade and Jordan Toles.
