Perhaps the Ravens' top defender, All-Pro safety Kyle Hamilton suffered an ankle injury in the first half of "Thursday Night Football" against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Hamilton walked off the field without assistance from trainers and was originally declared questionable to return. He was ruled out near the start of the second half and returned to the sideline in a sweatsuit wearing a boot.
After the game, Head Coach John Harbaugh provided an update on Hamilton.
"It's not a serious ankle [injury]," Harbaugh said. "I don't know how long it will be, but it's an ankle sprain."
On Friday, the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported the Ravens got good news regarding Hamilton's injury.
Hamilton went down in a heap with one minute, nine seconds left in the first half. It's unclear if the back of his cleat was incidentally clipped by a Bengals receiver running behind him or if it was a non-contact injury. Hamilton was dropping into coverage on a 17-yard completion to running back Chase Brown and his ankle rolled.
Hamilton already had four tackles and two passes defensed in the first half. He entered the game second on the team in tackles (67), first in passes defensed (five), and had two sacks.
