With no NFL football to watch for a few months, we must face the reality that the offseason is truly underway.
However, that doesn't mean we can't think about football. Here are some weekend thoughts on the Ravens, all in 50 words or less:
- Kyle Hamilton told ESPN’s Mina Kimes he believes the Ravens already have enough talent to win a Super Bowl. I agree. Of course they'll make offseason moves trying to improve. But winning a championship comes down to making fewer mistakes in the playoffs when the stakes are highest.
- I expect the Ravens to sign a veteran safety who would allow Hamilton to roam and make plays all over the field. Baltimore's defense was dynamic in 2023 when Hamilton was a Swiss Army Knife lining up in multiple positions. Why not take full advantage of his unique versatility?
- Along those lines, playmaking Georgia safety Malaki Starks has emerged in some mock drafts as the Ravens’ choice. Starks and Offensive Coordinator Todd Monken were together for one year at Georgia (2022). Monken surely has valuable insight on Starks as a player and person.
- I was disappointed that Terrell Suggs and Marshal Yanda did not make the Hall of Fame on the first ballot. In my opinion, both belong in Canton and will eventually be inducted. But the competition will not get easier in 2025.
- Congratulations to five Maryland Terrapins invited to the NFL Combine – wide receivers Tai Felton and Kaden Prather, defensive linemen Tommy Akingbesote and Jordan Phillips, and safety Dante Trader Jr. It's another step toward reaching their dream. Who knows, at least one may become a Raven.
- Watching the Super Bowl only reaffirmed how important it is to protect the quarterback. With left tackle Ronnie Stanley and left guard Patrick Mekari both free agents, the Ravens' decisions regarding their offensive line will be critical to their success next season.

730: Ranking the Ravens' Offseason Needs
Our insiders, Ryan Mink and Garrett Downing, debate what the Ravens' top needs are heading into the 2025 offseason, including offensive line, safety, pass rusher, and more.
- Ar'Darius Washington and Rashod Bateman overcame injuries early in their careers to become impactful starters. Adisa Isaac and T.J. Tampa were slowed by injuries as rookies, but it's too early to predict what they'll become. Hopefully they'll be healthy in 2025, allowing them to contribute more.
- Derrick Henry, who turned 31 in January, can become the oldest player ever to win the rushing title by doing it next season. Don't bet against him. Henry wears No. 22 and looks like he's 22 when he bursts into the secondary.
- Since the AFC North went to its current four-team alignment in 2002, no team has won three straight division titles. The Ravens will attempt to do that in 2025, and they enter the offseason as division favorites.
- Ravens fans can picture Lamar Jackson riding a float at Disney World after next year's Super Bowl the way Jalen Hurts did this year. Hurts had plenty of doubters at points during his career and he silenced them. I believe Jackson will eventually silence any doubters that remain.
