Press Release: Ravens Sign Three Free Agents

The Baltimore Ravens have signed free agents RB Shaun Chapas,G Will RackleyandTE Phillip Supernaw, general manager and executive vice president Ozzie Newsome announced Monday afternoon.

Chapas, 26, is a first-year NFL player who has played in six career games for the Dallas Cowboys and Jacksonville Jaguars, recording two receptions for 15 yards. He saw action in three games, including his first-career start for Jacksonville, in 2012, posting one reception for six yards. Chapas also played in three games for the Cowboys in 2011, grabbing one reception for nine yards. Chapas was originally a seventh-round draft choice (220th overall) for the Jaguars in 2011.* *

Rackley, 25, a third-year player, spent the last three seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Rackley has played in 26 career games, including 25 starts at guard. He missed the entire 2012 season with an ankle injury suffered in the preseason. He started 11 games in 2013, missing five games with a head injury. Rackley started 14 of 15 games at left guard as a rookie in 2011 and helped NFL rushing leader RB Maurice Jones-Drew set a single-season Jaguars record with 1,606 rushing yards. Rackley was originally a third-round draft choice (76th overall) for the Jaguars in 2011.

Supernaw, 24, a first-year player, saw action in one game for the Houston Texans in 2013. He spent the first six weeks of the 2012 season on the Texans' practice squad before suffering a right foot injury and was placed on the Practice Squad/Injured list. Supernaw originally signed with Houston as a rookie free agent in 2012.

To make room on their 90-man roster, the Ravens waived OLB D.J. Bryant (failed physical), TE Matt Furstenburg and DL/OL Cody Larsen.
