Season in Review
Baltimore's secondary was at the bottom of the league through the first 10 weeks, but starting in Week 11 it turned into one of the NFL's top units. A big reason for that shift was safety Ar'Darius Washington entering the starting lineup, but the Baltimore cornerbacks stepped up their game in the back half of the season, too.
After an injury plagued 2023, Humphrey had the best season of his career and was arguably the defense's top player. He consistently made game-changing plays, most notably his fourth quarter pick-six against the Steelers in Week 16.
Wiggins saw an increase in playing time as the season went on and during the postseason played 85% of the defensive snaps. The talent and confidence were clear for the 2024 first-round pick, and he capped off an impressive rookie campaign with a pick-six in an AFC North-clinching victory.
Stephens was a full-time starter and had an up and down season. According to Pro Football Focus, Stephens surrendered 806 receiving yards as one of the most targeted cornerbacks in the league. Baltimore added depth at the trade deadline, acquiring White from the Los Angeles Rams in a move that helped the unit down the stretch.
Maulet, who was slated to be the team's nickel cornerback, was limited to just three games due to injuries. Armour-Davis and Tampa, a fourth-round rookie, were each banged up throughout the season as well.
What to Watch This Offseason
Stephens' pending free agency is the biggest question. General Manager Eric DeCosta said at his season-ending press conference that he expected the 27-year-old Stephens to test the market, so Baltimore could have a starter to replace.
The Ravens could sign a lower-priced veteran in free agency or add to the room through the draft. A number of pundits have the Ravens taking a cornerback No. 27 overall. Baltimore may also find bigger roles for Armour Davis or Tampa if they can remain healthy.
The 32-year-old Maulet is also a player to watch. He had a strong 2023 but the Ravens could save over $2 million by releasing him, per Over the Cap.
