Season in Review

The Ravens' defensive line thrived in 2024. Baltimore's rush defense led the league in both top categories, allowing just 80.1 yards per game and 3.6 yards per rush.

After signing a four-year contract extension last offseason, Madubuike responded with another Pro Bowl campaign. Though his sacks dropped from 13 to 6.5, Madubuike was still disruptive as a pass rusher and run stopper.

After dedicating himself to getting even stronger and faster last offseason, Jones became a starter and emerged as one of the toughest players to block at his position, despite playing through a midseason ankle injury. His ascension is one of the biggest takeaways from the defensive line's season.

Washington was again a key part of the rotation, and the veteran "Fun Bunch" combination of Pierce and Urban continued to play at a high level. Pierce's Week 18 interception was one of the season's top moments.

What to Watch This Offseason

How much longer do Urban (33) and Pierce (32) want to play? Urban has signed a series of one-year contracts to remain in Baltimore and could do so again, while Pierce is under contract for one more year. Their status will greatly shape Baltimore's defensive line depth.

The Ravens will likely look to inject more youth into their defensive line rotation via the draft but could also seek to add a premier defensive lineman in free agency. Baltimore was reportedly pursuing a reunion with Calais Campbell at last season's trade deadline that was blocked.

Madubuike will be hungry to have a year more in line with his 2023 season, and he and Jones are strong anchors in Baltimore's trenches.
