Season in Review
After his fifth consecutive season with at least 150 tackles, Smith made first-team All-Pro for the third straight year. Smith missed a rare game due to injury (hamstring) in Week 12, but he bounced back to play his best football down the stretch and remained one of the team's locker room leaders.
Simpson started the first 13 games, but his playing time dipped late in the season as Harrison and Board took over the snaps next to Smith. Harrison thrived in a larger role, with a career-high 13 tackles in a victory over the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 12, and seven tackles during the playoff loss at Buffalo. He played a career-high 38% of the defensive snaps and made a career-high 54 tackles.
What to Watch This Offseason
Harrison is coming off his best season and fills a variety of roles for the Ravens, so it will impact the inside linebacker room and special teams if he departs in free agency. Board and Welch are also free agents who played significant roles on special teams.
Simpson is a player to watch moving forward, a third-round pick in 2023 who the Ravens have high hopes for. General Manager Eric DeCosta said after the season that he remained bullish on Simpson's potential.
"I think his future's very bright," DeCosta said. "We've seen guys like him have their moments and then end up being really, really good players, and I would expect that. He can run; he's very explosive; he has a huge care factor, and it's our job to get that out of him, and I think we will."
