The Ravens host the Steelers in the postseason for the first time on Saturday night at 8 p.m. It's win-or-go-home, and the No. 3-seeded Ravens are looking for a long postseason run that ends in New Orleans.
The AFC teams kickoff Wild Card Weekend starting on Saturday afternoon. Here are who Ravens fans should root for in the conference:
Los Angeles Chargers (AFC's No. 5 seed) @ Houston Texans (No. 4 seed)
4:30 p.m. Saturday, Paramount+
The Chargers are red-hot offensively entering the postseason, averaging 36 points over the past three games, and the Texans are under .500 since their 5-1 start. The Ravens beat both of these teams on the road in the regular season, but the Chargers kept it close while the Texans lost, 31-2, on Christmas Day.
The Chargers organization is littered with Ravens connections from former players, coaches, and executives to John and Jim Harbaugh. Given the trajectories of these teams and the familiarity aspect with the Chargers, hosting the Texans in divisional round seems like a better matchup for the Ravens, if they beat the Steelers and the Bills lose.
Root for: Texans
Denver Broncos (AFC's No. 7 seed) @ Buffalo Bills (No. 2 seed)
1 p.m. Sunday, Paramount+
While the Texans-Chargers is personal preference, Ravens fans should undoubtedly be pulling for the Broncos in this one. A Denver win would mean the Broncos travel to Kansas City to face the Chiefs, and the Ravens would host either the Texans or Chargers (assuming Baltimore wins Saturday night).
Staying at home for another round would be a huge win for the Ravens, not to mention missing out on a frigid game in Buffalo. The longer the Ravens play at M&T Bank Stadium the better, and they need a Bills loss to host a game next weekend.
