Angela Forsett's vertical leap is 36 inches.
What is Justin Forsett's?
"Thirty-three" he sheepishly said. "She's probably the better athlete. She's so explosive."
If you hadn't heard about Forsett's wife's athleticism, now we have video proof.
Angela was an outside hitter on the U.S. national volleyball team for several years. She was going to be on the Olympic Volleyball team headed for London, but found out not long before that she was pregnant with the couple's first child and had to pull out.
Angela was named Miss Florida in high school after starring in volleyball, basketball and track and field.
"She was dominant in all of them," Justin bragged.
Angela inherited some good genes. Her father, Paul Pressey, played 11 seasons (1982-1992) in the NBA with the Milwaukee Bucks, San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors. He is now an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Lakers. Her brother, Phil Pressey, played a couple NBA seasons for the Boston Celtics and one with the Philadelphia 76ers. He's now in the developmental league.
Justin, meanwhile, got the short end of the genetic stick (at least height-wise). His brother is 6-foot-3, 350 pounds. Justin is 5-foot-8, 195 pounds.
Justin and Angela always talk trash about which of their families would win in a pick-up basketball game.
But Angela, ultimately, has the trump card. Justin doesn't like to work out with her. She's a CrossFit coach in Owings Mills, and sometimes works out other players' wives – but rarely her husband. "Sometimes, if I'm desperate, I'll work out with her," he said. "But she's a little too intense for me. CrossFit is a whole different type of workout. There's no reason for me to be clearing 135 pounds 60 times – ever in life."
