On his reaction when he got the call from the Ravens and if he met with senior special teams coach Randy Brown during the process: "Oh dude, total elation getting the call. I saw the area code come across my phone. I was like, 'Let's go. I'm going to Baltimore.' But yes, [it's] totally awesome. [I'm a] big fan of [senior special teams coach] Randy [Brown], and this whole process has been really fun, just getting to learn from him, even just in the conversations of like, 'Hey, no guarantee that we end up together, but here's how I've helped guys find success in the League, and here's what I think you do well. Here's where, if you're with us, we can improve and go try and win games and make kicks and be successful in Baltimore.' It's been a really cool process, getting to know Randy, and it's been special."

On how many total times he met with the Ravens and his confidence level that you would be getting drafted by the Ravens today: "As far as [how many] times we've met, I don't have a great ballpark [guess]. I had a good amount of phone calls [and] conversations. I met with a scout at the Hula Bowl, and then at the Combine, I got to chat with [senior special teams coach] Randy [Brown] during the specialist workout. We got to chat a bunch and got to exchange film and just talk about that. Just through the process, especially the Draft, I think the moment that I was like, 'Alright, hey, I think we're going to end up at Baltimore,' was right after the Patriots took 'Andy' [Andres Borregales]. I was like, 'Alright, here we go. I'm going to be a Baltimore Raven and go to be with Randy and [head coach John] Harbaugh and be a Raven. I'm pumped."

On what it means to be the first kicker ever drafted by the Ravens: "It's so special. That was a cool thing. My dad had mentioned that. He was like, 'Hey, the Ravens have never drafted a kicker.' It's really special. To get drafted in itself is just so cool, especially to an organization like the Ravens. You couldn't dream of anything cooler."

On if he thinks he might end up competing for a job with K Justin Tucker: "I'm just excited to get there and be around those guys and learn from them, be with the team and find ways to make kicks in Baltimore. Being successful up there is what matters the most, going and making kicks and winning games and just taking it one day at a time, so I'm going to celebrate today, and tomorrow, get right back to work and stack some days and figure out how we can have success up there."

On his experience kicking in bad weather conditions and his anticipation to kick in the AFC North division: "Being in the Pac-12, I got to go up to Washington, Washington State and Oregon and play up there in some cold weather and some wind and crazy conditions. It's something that gets me excited. I think having a challenge to go conquer and a skillset to refine and really work on and become an expert of kicking in those conditions is something that gets me fired up. Learning from coaches who have been up there for a long time and learned how to be successful in the AFC North kicking, that's something that just the sound of gets me pumped up, so I'm really looking forward to it and learning all that."

On his favorite kickers growing up and if he has to set aside or compartmentalize the K Justin Tucker situation: "So, as far as kickers that I really looked up to growing up, especially getting into college, Nick Folk, a fellow Arizona Wildcat. Obviously, Justin Tucker is from Texas, and I was a [Texas] Longhorn fan growing up, so there's elements of guys like that who have had success in the League and have been regarded as the elite place kickers in the NFL. I admire a lot of parts of their games, but it's one of those where it's like, 'Hey, I've got things that I can do to learn from them, but I've also got my own style and my own kicking.' Just figuring out what's going to work to be successful in Baltimore and make kicks and win games, what that looks like is just stacking days and learning and taking input and just competing every day. So, that's what I'm going to do. That's what I'm ready for."

On if he can describe his style of kicking and if he felt like he had the biggest leg of any kicker in this year's draft: "I'd say the one thing that I hang my hat on is being a student of craft. Guys in golf and baseball, you have a swing coach, because we're doing the same thing, trying to hit the same ball every time. So, I was super fortunate to have a coach here in Texas through Kohl's [Professional Camps] in Morgan Lineberry, and from my sophomore year, it was like, 'Hey, we're going to figure out ... We're going to learn your swing, we're going to learn what works, what keys work for you, and we're going to be as efficient as possible.' And that's something that I really enjoy, because there are days where you don't feel good. There are days where you're not in a groove, and if you're not feeling it, you can always fall back on your mechanics to be successful and make kicks, and so that gets me excited, knowing that that's just something that I enjoy is the mechanics of the game and how kicking works. And as far as leg strength, there are some impressive legs in this class. I definitely would think I'm up there, but man, it was really fun competing with those guys at the combine and just seeing how talented they are. That brotherhood is really special, so it was fun."

On how much pressure he would feel to follow in K Justin Tucker's footsteps: "I think it's really exciting more than pressure, just because it gives you something to shoot for, right? We always want to be improving. We always want to be chasing perfection and learning how to adjust well and make kicks. Getting to follow in the footsteps of a guy like [Justin Tucker] who's been so elite and get to compete with him and maybe learn from him, that gets me fired up. I'm ready to get up there and start competing and finding ways to win games and make kicks."

On if he's had a chance to follow the Ravens' snap and hold operation or if he's talked to senior special teams coach Randy Brown about it: "Yes, we've chatted about it a little bit. I'm excited. I think the operation they have up there is top level. Those guys care deeply about their job, and they take it seriously. They're true professionals. I'm so excited to get up there and work with them and start building that chemistry and find ways to find ways to be successful with them."

On if he already had that Ravens shirt handy or if he was just kind of planning ahead and had a bunch of shirts: "No, we were ready with it. We were ready with it. It was handy. [I] ordered it a couple days ago, so yes."
