Matchups to Watch in Ravens-Buccaneers, Week 7
Here are six matchups to look out for on 'Monday Night Football.'
CB Marlon Humphrey vs. WR Mike Evans
Evans has been one of the most consistent receivers since he entered the league in 2014, and he's putting together another strong season with 310 yards and five touchdowns. Humphrey has seen star receivers all season, so he'll certainly be ready for the "Monday Night Football" showdown.
TE Mark Andrews vs. LB Lavonte David
Andrews had his best game of the season against the Commanders, catching three passes for 66 yards and a touchdown. He's now just one score away from breaking a tie with tight end Todd Heap for the most receiving touchdowns in Ravens history. Look for David to get some reps on Andrews over the middle in a battle of two Pro Bowl-caliber players.
DT Travis Jones vs. C Graham Barton
Jones is showing he's one of the best interior defensive linemen in the league with the position's fourth-highest grade, according to Pro Football Focus, and he'll go up against a first-round center in Barton this week. A hamstring injury kept Barton out of Tampa Bay's Week 6 game against the Saints, and he will have his hands full with Baltimore's run-stuffer in Week 7.
CB Brandon Stephens vs. WR Chris Godwin
According to NextGen Stats, Stephens has allowed less than a yard of separation on 50% of his targets as the nearest defender this season, tied for the highest rate in the NFL. He'll have a tough matchup against Godwin, who has 511 yards and five touchdowns this year. Baltimore's cornerbacks versus Tampa Bay's receivers will be a huge battle Monday night.
C Tyler Linderbaum vs. DT Vita Vea
Vea is one of the best run-stuffing defensive tackles in the league and Linderbaum is one of the top centers, so Monday's matchup will have plenty of buzz. "We're going to have a tough challenge this week," Linderbaum said on "The Lounge" podcast. There will be a lot of focus on the Ravens' run game as they look to keep their No. 1 ranked unit churning.
WR Zay Flowers vs. CB Zyon McCollum
Flowers is coming off back-to-back 100-yard games for the first time in his career as Baltimore's pass game is flourishing. This week, he'll face Pro Football Focus' highest-graded cornerback in McCollum, who is breaking out in his third season.
