Who’s Out There? Edge Rushers
Former Ravens Matthew Judon and Yannick Ngakoue have signed with other teams, but there are veteran pass rushers remaining on the free agent market.

Adrian Clayborn
Released by the Cleveland Browns on March 9, Clayborn was a salary cap casualty whose release reportedly cleared $3 million in cap room for the Browns. Clayborn, who turns 33 years old in July, had 3.5 sacks for the Browns last season and had three tackles for loss. He could still have value as a rotational pass rusher in a 3-4 scheme.

Jadeveon Clowney
Injuries have been an issue for Clowney, who did not have a sack in eight games with the Tennessee Titans last year. However, he's still only 28 years old, and he helped the Seattle Seahawks reach the playoffs in 2019 with 14 quarterback hits. If he still has that kind of juice, Clowney can help whoever signs him.

Carlos Dunlap
At age 32, Dunlap may no longer be a Pro Bowl player, but his consistent track record makes him intriguing. He's had at least seven sacks in eight different seasons and was a hard-nosed player for more than 10 seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals before he was traded to Seattle in October. Dunlap could still be productive in the right situation.

Justin Houston
Over the last two seasons with the Indianapolis Colts, Houston combined for 19 sacks, 30 quarterback hits and 53 pressures. He was once one of the NFL's most feared pass rushers, but now he's more of a situational player. Still chasing his first Super Bowl ring at age 32, Houston could find it intriguing to join a contender.

Melvin Ingram
During his nine-year career, Ingram has been effective as a versatile pass rusher who can pressure quarterbacks both coming off the edge, or lining up inside. Ingram dealt with a lingering knee injury in 2020 and played just seven games. However, he had seven sacks in both 2018 and 2019, and returning to that form in 2021 would make him a valuable pickup.

Ryan Kerrigan
Washington's all-time sack leader (95.5), Kerrigan became a rotational player in 2020, but he still produced 5.5 sacks, aiding a strong pass rush led by Chase Young and Montez Sweat. Though Washington has expressed interest in re-signing Kerrigan, he is testing the open market and may be the right fit for a team seeking a veteran pass rusher.

Trent Murphy
With 26 total sacks in five seasons, Murphy is not an elite pass rusher and was inactive for some late-season games with the Buffalo Bills in 2020. However, Murphy defends the run well and had a strong playoff game against the Ravens. A team looking for front seven depth may view Murphy as a valuable pickup.

Aldon Smith
After missing four seasons (2016-19) due to suspensions and off-the-field issues, Smith got his career back on track with the Dallas Cowboys in 2020, contributing five sacks and playing all 16 games. Now Smith hopes to parlay his comeback season into another opportunity with the Cowboys or another organization.

Olivier Vernon
Vernon's hopes of being highly-coveted in free agency were crushed after he ruptured his Achilles in Week 17. He had nine sacks for the Cleveland Browns in 2020 and helped them reach the playoffs. With an uncertain timetable for his recovery, Vernon may have to wait a few months until his next opportunity.
