Pittsburgh Steelers: Former Coach Expects Steelers to Consider Signing Aaron Rodgers

After one season with the Steelers, veteran quarterback Russell Wilson is not expected to return.

Jay Glazer of FOX Sports reported during Super Bowl week that Wilson will not return to Pittsburgh. Glazer added that Wilson will not sign with the Las Vegas Raiders to reunite with their new Head Coach Pete Carroll.

"That ain't gonna happen," Glazer said on "NBC Fantasy Football Happy Hour," via Yahoo Sports. "That one is over. I don't think that's gonna happen either (a return to Pittsburgh). I think you'll see a new start for Russell somewhere."

Glazer also reported that Aaron Rodgers won't return as the Jets' starting quarterback in 2025.

If the 41-year-old Rodgers decides to play next season, will the Steelers replace one veteran Super Bowl-winning quarterback with another? The idea of Rodgers coming to Pittsburgh is worth considering, according to CBS analyst and former Steelers head coach Bill Cowher.

"I think he wants to play. I think there's going to be a place for him, somewhere," Cowher said on "The Dan Patrick Show," via Tim Benz of TribLive. "I think if he puts his mind to it, he can still throw it. He can still move around fine. It's got to be the right place for him. The right situation."

Cowher was asked if that right situation could be the Steelers.

"Yeah," Cowher said. "I don't know where they are right now in terms of their quarterback situation with Russell and Justin. I think a decision has to be made: 'What's the future plan, and what is the plan in the interim?'"

Rodgers wouldn't be a long-term answer for the Steelers, but they haven't won a playoff game since 2016 and Cowher said their veteran leaders don't want their championship window to close.

"I think there's going to be a sense of urgency, taking some guys on the back end of their careers - T.J. Watt, Cam Heyward," Cowher said. "They're in the latter stages of their careers. They want to win now.

"You've also got to have a plan moving forward. There will be dialogue there [about Rodgers], but those will be conversations taking place in that building."

Cleveland Browns: Will Decision at Quarterback Change Myles Garrett's Mind?

Myles Garrett’s request to be traded quickly became one of the hot topics of the offseason. However, if the Browns acquire a quarterback that excites Garrett, ESPN's Adam Schefter believes Garrett could change his mind.

At this point, Schefter said the Browns are in no hurry to trade the two-time Defensive Player of the Year.

"They're not looking to move on from him, and by the way, it's early in the offseason," Schefter said on the "Unsportsmanlike" podcast with Chris Canty, Evan Cohen, and Michelle Smallmon. "Yes, Myles Garrett is a proud, smart man and this is what he wants today. But a month from now, when the Browns make a move at quarterback… is that going to change his mind?"

The Browns have the No. 2 pick in the draft and could select top quarterback prospects Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders, or they could pursue a free agent quarterback such as Kirk Cousins or Sam Darnold. Schefter said Cleveland could also entice Garrett to stay with a lucrative contract extension.

"Will it change his mind when they say, 'Hey, we're going to make you the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history?'" Schefter said. "Is he going to feel differently? I don't know. He might not. … But I can tell you this, they're not looking to trade him. They don't want to trade him. This is going to be a process that is not going to play out quickly."

Cincinnati Bengals: Joe Burrow Continues to Push for Bengals to Re-Sign Their Stars

The Bengals are facing a crucial offseason, with wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase seeking a massive contract extension, starting wide receiver Tee Higgins about to become a free agent, and NFL sack leader Trey Hendrickson seeking an extension.

Franchise quarterback Joe Burrow appeared on ESPN's "First Take" during Super Bowl week and continued to campaign for those teammates to ink new deals. Burrow said he was open to restructuring his contract and believes the Bengals have the salary cap flexibility to make it happen.

"The cap is going up each year," Burrow said. "We just got new TV deals. We all want to stay together. We're all going to do what it takes to do that.

"We have great players that have done great things and deserve to be paid. They're going to be paid what they're worth whether we do it or somebody else. I hope we do it. We've had the discussions that the guys are going to get paid that need to get paid. It's a big offseason for the Bengals."
