Running back Chris Collier has been signed from the practice squad to the 53-man roster, while linebacker Kristian Welch has been elevated from the practice squad for Monday night's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Collier had reached the maximum three practice squad elevations for game days, playing 12 snaps exclusively on special teams. An undrafted rookie from Division II Loch Haven, Collier will be available for special teams and as the No. 3 back behind Derrick Henry and Justice Hill. Rookie running back Rasheen Ali (ankle) has been ruled out against the Buccaneers after making his NFL debut in Week 6 with nine special teams snaps against the Washington Commanders. Baltimore had an extra spot on the 53-man roster after returner Deonte Harty was placed on injured reserve Saturday.
Welch was signed by the Ravens on Oct. 16 after being released by the Denver Broncos. He will be available to join the linebacker rotation in place of Malik Harrison (groin), who was ruled out for the second straight game. While he played mostly on special teams with the Broncos this season, Welch saw the most extensive defensive action of his career in Denver with 36 snaps, including one start.
Undrafted out of Iowa, Welch played his first three seasons in Baltimore, where he saw action in 43 games and made 21 tackles, primarily on special teams. He played 44 defensive snaps over his three years with the Ravens and played in 14 games last season with the Green Bay Packers.
The Ravens didn't activate nickel cornerback Arthur Maulet (knee/hamstring) from injured reserve before their Week 7 game. Maulet's 21-day practice window closes in the middle of the week, meaning he'll either need to be put on the 53-man roster or stay on injured reserve, ending his season.
