Four key Ravens were sidelined by illness Tuesday as the Ravens prepared to take on the Cleveland Browns in the regular-season finale.
Left tackle Ronnie Stanley, left guard Patrick Mekari, and running back Justice Hill (concussion/illness) missed their second consecutive practice, and defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike missed Tuesday's session due to illness. On Monday, Head Coach John Harbaugh said Stanley and Mekari are dealing with flu-like symptoms.
Harbaugh said Hill, who missed the Christmas game in Houston due to a concussion, is just sick and will play against the Browns.
Running back Rasheen Ali (hip) returned to practice as a limited participant. Tight end Charlie Kolar (forearm), who had his 21-day practice window opened Monday, was a full participant Tuesday. Cornerback Jalyn Armour-Davis (hamstring) did not practice again.
Wide receiver Nelson Agholor (concussion) was a full participant after missing the past two games.
Ravens Could Face Multiple Quarterbacks, But Not Jameis Winston
It still remains to be seen who the Browns' starting quarterback will be, but it sounds like it won't be Jameis Winston.
Browns Head Coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters Winston is still dealing with his shoulder injury and will likely be the emergency third quarterback. Winston threw for 334 yards and three touchdowns in the Browns' 29-24 upset win over the Ravens in Week 8.
The Browns could end up playing both Dorian Thompson-Robinson, who has started the past two games, and Bailey Zappe, who hasn't started a game yet this season. The Ravens faced Thompson-Robinson last season and Harbaugh said the Ravens would go back to Zappe's six starts for the Patriots last season to build tape of him.
"Whichever way it goes, we're playing the Browns, the Browns are playing the Ravens, and we'll be ready to go," Harbaugh said.
