Lamar Jackson remains sidelined with an illness and will not practice Friday. He continues to undergo further evaluation and receive care from the Ravens' medical team.

Jackson, the NFL's reigning MVP, returned to practice Wednesday after missing the first three days of full-team training camp practice, but it was short-lived. He practiced for about an hour Wednesday before leaving the field and walking inside with athletic trainers.

Head Coach John Harbaugh gave an update on Jackson following Friday's practice.

"Fighting through an illness, working with our doctors, doing all the tests even more tests to make sure we've got everything covered," Harbaugh said. "I'm confident he'll be back pretty soon. It's just an unpredictable deal, I mean you guys have been sick before. Sometimes it's not easy. So that's what we're dealing with."

The Ravens were off on Thursday, and Friday will be Jackson's fourth missed practice since training camp began on Sunday. He had previously practiced for several days before the full squad of veterans reported to camp. Quarterbacks and injured veterans joined rookies at camp on July 15.

Veteran backup Josh Johnson has run the first-team offense, followed by rookies Devin Leary and Emory Jones.
