The club captured league honors during the 1936-37 and the 1967-68 seasons, and won the European Cup in 1970. Seven players on 2010 World Cup rosters were from Manchester City, including Carlos Tevez (Argentina), Nigel de Jong (Netherlands), Kolo Toure (Ivory Coast) and Gareth Barry (England).
Saturday's match will mark the second consecutive year in which teams from two of Europe's top soccer leagues will compete against one another in Baltimore. Last summer, Chelsea Football Club defeated A.C. Milan 2-1 in a friendly at M&T bank Stadium.
