The Ravens have shuffled their roster at cornerback heading into Sunday's game in Cleveland, where they'll be shorthanded against the Browns.
Cornerback Nate Wiggins (shoulder/illness) did not travel with the team Saturday and was ruled out later in the day. Starting corner Marlon Humphrey is doubtful to play with a knee injury that kept him out of practice all week.
That means two of the Ravens' top three cornerbacks are likely not to suit up against a Browns offense that ranks last in the league in passing but does have a new play-caller and quarterback with veteran backup Jameis Winston replacing injured Deshaun Watson.
The Ravens do have help on the way, as Jalyn Armour-Davis was activated from injured reserve/designated for return to the 53-man roster. Armour-Davis missed the past four games with a hamstring injury but returned to full practice participation this week.
The third-year veteran has played in 15 games and made three starts over his career. He played 15 defensive snaps in the Ravens' first two games. If Humphrey doesn't play, Armour-Davis could be thrust into the starting lineup.
Baltimore should also get veteran slot cornerback Arthur Maulet (knee) back on the field this week.
To make room for Armour-Davis, the Ravens moved rookie fourth-round cornerback T.J. Tampa (ankle) to injured reserve, meaning he will miss at least the next four games. Tampa had already been ruled out for this week. A core muscle injury already hampered the start of Tampa's rookie year.
Baltimore also elevated undrafted rookie Bump Cooper Jr. from the practice squad for Sunday's game. It will be the Oregon State product's NFL debut.
The Browns got good news Saturday as they activated three-time Pro Bowl guard Wyatt Teller from injured reserve. It will be his first game back from a knee injury.
