Rookie tight end Qadir Ismail, who was signed to the Ravens' practice squad in August, has been placed on injured reserve.
The son of former Ravens wide receiver Qadry Ismail had an impressive summer as an undrafted rookie from Samford. He was invited for a tryout at minicamp and did well enough to be signed to the 90-man roster at the start of Organized Team Activities.
In late July, the 6-foot-6 Ismail switched from wide receiver to tight end and continued to make plays, earning a spot on the team.
Versatility has been one of Ismail's strengths. He began his college career as a quarterback at Villanova before moving to wide receiver at Samford.
In a corresponding move, tight end Zaire Mitchell-Paden has been re-signed to the practice squad after being waived on Wednesday.
