RAVENS KICK OFF 2014 PLAYOFF RUN
As the Baltimore Ravens football team prepares for its Wild Card playoff game the rest of the organization will be painting the town purple, literally, in celebration of reaching the NFL postseason for the sixth time in the past seven years.
Tomorrow (Dec. 29) morning, members of the Ravens' grounds crew will visit Baltimore's City Hall at 9 a.m. and Federal Hill at 11:30 a.m. to paint the Ravens' logo on grass at each location. Front office staff, Poe and Ravens cheerleaders will join in the action to celebrate the team's playoff push by providing giveaways for fans in attendance.
On Tuesday (Dec. 30) morning, members of the Ravens' marketing department will be on hand at M&T Bank Stadium in Lot D to decorate fans' cars with the official Ravens logo from 6 – 10 a.m. Fans are encouraged to stop by to have spray chalk applied to their cars so they can show their pride throughout the week. If fans are unable to have their car painted on Tuesday, there will be other chances during the Ravens' daily "Flock Parties" throughout the week at local establishments.
The first Flock Party will be held Tuesday evening at the Giant Food on West 41st Street. Each Flock Party will feature meet-and-greets with Ravens alumni players, cheerleaders and Poe. Additionally, fans can have their car painted, hang out with 98Rock on-air personalities and grab free prizes, including autographed memorabilia. More Flock Parties will be held throughout the week at various locations. The full schedule of events can be found at www.BaltimoreRavens.com/FlockParty.
On Thursday (Jan. 1) afternoon, Ravens cheerleaders and Poe will be ice skating with fans at the ice rink in the Inner Harbor from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Fans are encouraged to come out and join in the fun.
Then on Friday (Jan. 2), in traditional fashion, 98Rock and the Ravens will host their Purple Friday Fuel Up at Hightopps Backstage Grille in Timonium from 6-10 a.m., with the Morning Show broadcasting live and featuring appearances from Ravens alumni players and cheerleaders. A Miller Lite caravan around Federal Hill will follow later in the day, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Exact details and participating locations can be found at www.BaltimoreRavens.com/Playoffs.
Fans who don't have a chance to experience the fun can still take part in the excitement online, as the Ravens plan to give away daily prizes as part of their Week of Winning, presented by Coke Zero. Contest codes will be announced each day on various Ravens digital platforms (Twitter, mobile app, Instagram, RavensReps and BaltimoreRavens.com). Fans who find the codes online can submit them into the contest form to be entered to win Ravens prizes, including autographed memorabilia.
Also, in partnership with Giant Food, throughout the week children will be able to write and send letters to the Ravens via purple mailboxes found in 52 area store locations. Each Wednesday evening during the playoffs, the letters will be picked up from Giant Food locations and transported to the Under Armour Performance Center in Owings Mills, where they will then be posted in the cafeteria for players and coaches to see. Children who send letters will also become eligible to win a school visit by Poe and Ravens cheerleaders.
A list of participating Giant Food locations, as well as a template for the letters and more information on all playoff activities, can be found on www.BaltimoreRavens.com/Playoffs.
