The Ravens claimed wide receiver Steven Sims off waivers Tuesday, adding another punt returner to the roster after he was waived by the Houston Texans.
It's unlikely that Sims would play against his former team Wednesday night in Houston given the quick turnaround.
Head Coach John Harbaugh said Tuesday that Desmond King III will be the punt returner against the Texans despite fumbling on two returns. Tylan Wallace put two punt returns on the ground in Week 13 against the Eagles, opening the door for King.
"'Des' has been a secure guy his whole career and had been with us for the first few games," Harbaugh said. "I really anticipate he'll do well, but obviously, it has to be better than that. And he knows that. Shoot, he was talking to me during the game about it. So, he knows that and that's priority one."
Sims was waived by the Houston Texans on Friday after playing in seven games with them this season. He returned 16 punts for an average of 6.2 yards, including a long of 26 yards. He also had seven kickoff returns for an average of 27.9 yards.
Sims did not make any catches, playing just seven offensive snaps with the Texans.
The Ravens and Texans swapped wide receivers Tuesday, as Houston claimed Diontae Johnson off waivers after he was waived by Baltimore last Friday.
