Rookie cornerback T.J. Tampa made his training camp debut Monday, returning from sports hernia surgery. He started training camp on the physically unable to perform list.

The fourth-round pick participated in rookie minicamp and Organized Team Activities but has been out for the first three weeks of training camp. He participated in individual drills Monday as Head Coach John Harbaugh said Tampa will ramp up to full action.

Harbaugh said he'd "love to" see Tampa get some preseason action, it's just going to depend on how fast he can ramp up.

"I think he's got a good shot; we just have to see how it comes along in the next week or so," Harbaugh said.

A physical 6-foot-1, 199-pound cornerback, Tampa was considered the biggest steal of the Ravens’ draft class, as he was widely projected to be selected on Day 2.

Tampa's return bolsters a deep cornerback room, but one that has sustained injuries in recent days to Nate Wiggins (shoulder) and Arthur Maulet (knee).

Despite his late start at training camp, Tampa will have a chance to get a lot of reps before the regular season starts in two-and-a-half weeks.
