Tyler "Snoop" Huntley is coming back as the former Ravens backup quarterback will sign to the Ravens' practice squad following his release from the Cleveland Browns.
The Ravens had an open spot on their 16-man practice squad. They also have rookie sixth-round pick Devin Leary on their practice squad.
Huntley was released by the Browns on Thursday after they reportedly tried to trade him. Cleveland originally had four quarterbacks on its 53-man roster.
The Ravens only kept two quarterbacks on their 53-man roster with Lamar Jackson backed up by veteran Josh Johnson. General Manager Eric DeCosta expressed his confidence in the quarterback room and Johnson on Thursday, but did leave the door open for a possible addition.
"[Johnson is] like having another coach, and he's great with Lamar, the players love him, he's highly respected, [and] he's a talented player. So, we love Josh," DeCosta said.
Huntley served as Jackson's No. 2 last season, but that role will be held by Johnson this year. Having Huntley on the practice squad would provide more experienced insurance and a player that's very familiar with Baltimore's offense.
In his four seasons in Baltimore, Huntley played in 20 games and made nine starts with a 3-6 record. He also started the Ravens' Wild-Card playoff game in Cincinnati in the 2022 season.
