Maryland Gov. Wes Moore is a huge Ravens fan, which made Wednesday his kind of day.

Moore visited training camp before heading downtown to get a closer look at M&T Bank Stadium's renovations for the upcoming season. The governor emphasized how important the Ravens are to Maryland and said he was grateful for their long-time commitment to the community.

"It's great to have such a phenomenal partner in the Baltimore Ravens, in their ownership and their leadership group," Moore said. "These are people who understand what it means to win.

"I believe deeply in the future of Baltimore. I believe this is going to be Maryland's decade, and in order for it to be Maryland's decade, it's got to be Baltimore's time. The Baltimore Ravens play a really important part in making sure that it's Baltimore's time. I'm excited to get there (M&T Bank Stadium) in a little bit to go check it out, and I'm excited to be there at every home as well cheering them on."

Moore gave his scouting report on the Ravens after practice and couldn't help but notice the key offseason addition of running back Derrick Henry.

"Derrick Henry's a monster," Moore said. "That's a big dude.

"This is such an exciting team. How do you prepare for the Baltimore Ravens? How do you prepare for Lamar Jackson?... Who do you have on your scout team that prepares you for Derrick Henry? Do you get a linebacker to go play running back?

"We are so special when you look at everything from our assets and our players, to also our coaching and our mentality. This is a no-lose mentality."

Moore is stoked that the Ravens are getting a rematch against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 1.

"We had a great year last year, it didn't end the way that any of us hoped that it would," Moore said. "But I tell you what, I'm excited that we've got the Chiefs (in) Week 1. Because we're going to bring it to them."
