Who Ravens Fans Should Root for in Week 4

who-to-root-for-week-4

It'll be a long day as Ravens fans wait until 8:20 p.m. when their team kicks off on "Sunday Night Football" against the Buffalo Bills.

In the meantime, here's who Ravens fans should root for in Week 4:

Cincinnati Bengals (0-3) @ Carolina Panthers (1-2)

1 p.m., FOX

Andy Dalton has breathed life into the Panthers since taking over for Bryce Young. Dalton threw three touchdowns and topped 300 passing yards last week. Now he'll take on his former team in the Bengals, where he started his career and played nine years. Cincinnati is desperate to avoid 0-4. Only one team, the 1992 Chargers, ever made the playoffs after such a start. The Ravens, of course, would love to see a division rival buried early.

Pittsburgh Steelers (3-0) @ Indianapolis Colts (1-2)

1 p.m., CBS

The Steelers' hot start is one of the bigger surprises of the young season. They're riding a dominant defense and quarterback Justin Fields has been good enough. This is a battle between two mobile quarterbacks in Fields and the Colts' Anthony Richardson, who is looking to get on the right track. The Ravens don't want Pittsburgh pulling out to a big early lead in the division.

Jacksonville Jaguars (0-3) @ Houston Texans (2-1)

1 p.m., CBS

The Texans are one of the best teams in the conference and look like the clear leader in the AFC South. The Jaguars have been one of the worst so far. Still, when Baltimore is jockeying for a playoff spot by season's end, it may be thankful for any early-season upsets.

Root for: Jaguars

Cleveland Browns (1-2) @ Las Vegas Raiders (1-2)

4:25 p.m., CBS

The Browns are still banged up, especially on their offensive line. Good news for them is they won't have to face defensive end Maxx Crosby, who has been ruled out due to injury. Star wide receiver Davante Adams also won't be playing. Had those two players been out versus the Ravens, it would have probably been a different result. Will the Browns capitalize? Baltimore always wants its divisional foes to lose.

Root for: Raiders

Kansas City Chiefs (3-0) @ Los Angeles Chargers (2-1)

4:25 p.m., CBS

The Chiefs are already two games up on the Ravens and own the head-to-head tiebreaker. That's not out of reach by any means, but it's a fair amount of ground to make up against a team that probably isn't going to lose much. The Chargers have the look of a team that are going to factor into the playoff mix by season's end, so hanging another loss on their record may not be a bad thing. If rooting for Kansas City makes you ill and rooting for the gaggle of former Ravens, including running back J.K. Dobbins, gives you the warm fuzzies, that's understandable, too.

Root for: Chiefs

Tennessee Titans (0-3) @ Miami Dolphins (1-2)

Monday, 7:30 p.m., ESPN

Tyler "Snoop" Huntley, who was on the Ravens' practice squad just a couple weeks ago, will start for Miami with Tua Tagovailoa sidelined by another concussion and backup Skylar Thompson dealing with a rib injury. Emotionally, it would feel good to see Huntley win in his home state of Florida. Practical fans trying to give the Ravens any leg up in making the playoffs should probably root for the Titans. Sorry, Snoop.
