The Ravens have five rookies among their Week 1 inactives against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Baltimore's inactives are:

  • FS Beau Brade
  • CB T.J. Tampa
  • OLB Adisa Isaac
  • C Nick Samac
  • G Sala Aumavae-Laulu
  • WR Devontez Walker
  • DE Brent Urban

A local Maryland product, Brade was the feel-good story of Ravens roster cuts, but fellow rookie safety Sanoussi Kane got the nod to make his professional debut in Arrowhead Stadium.

Baltimore is going with five wide receivers with Walker, a fourth-round pick, a scratch. Walker dealt with an injury during training camp, as did fellow fourth-round rookie Tampa.

Samac is Tyler Linderbaum's backup, but veteran Patrick Mekari and others can step in there if needed. Linderbaum has been a full practice participant all week after dealing with a neck injury during training camp.

Third-round outside linebacker Adisa Isaac (hamstring) was ruled out before the game.

Another rookie, fifth-round running back Rasheen Ali, was placed on injured reserve hours before the game as veteran John Kelly was activated from the practice squad. Ali was already doubtful to play with a neck injury.

The Ravens rookies who will face the Chiefs are first-round cornerback Nate Wiggins, second-round right tackle Roger Rosengarten, and Kane.

Linebacker Josh Ross was brought up to the 53-man roster, and veteran cornerback Ka'dar Hollman was activated from the practice squad.

The Ravens will have four defensive linemen with Urban scratched: Nnamdi Madubuike, Michael Pierce, Travis Jones, and Broderick Washington.
