Derrick Henry didn't waste any time making his impact felt as a Raven.

Henry dove into the end zone for a 5-yard touchdown on the Ravens' opening drive at Arrowhead Stadium, putting Baltimore on top early against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Ravens lost to the Chiefs, 27-20, in Henry's debut, but Baltimore's big offseason addition made some key plays, starting with the touchdown run. He finished with 46 yards on 13 carries.

"It was good to get in there. They did a great job blocking. [I] had a hole, [and I] just had to hit it and get in the end zone," Henry said.

"Getting on the board and getting a touchdown felt good, but it was early in the game. We came up short today, and we're going to watch film, like I said, and get better and grow from it and come out and be better next week."

The Ravens ran just six times with their running backs in the AFC Championship game. Henry had five carries on Baltimore's first drive of the Week 1 rematch.

His first carry in purple only went for two yards, but the Ravens kept pounding the rock with their big man, as he went for three yards on the next carry and six on the next.

Fullback Patrick Ricard helped pave the way on Henry's touchdown run, stonewalling linebacker Nick Bolton in the backfield on a traditional under-center I-formation run right up the middle. Henry powered through the arms of linebacker Leo Chanal into the end zone.

Even with Henry on the field, Lamar Jackson still made many plays with his legs. Jackson ran 16 times for 122 yards.

"I don't expect [anything] less from [Jackson]," Henry said. "That's what he's been doing his whole career. That's the type of player he is. We're teammates now, but I've been seeing him when I was on the other side. That's the type of player Lamar is. He's going to put it on the line every single time."
