The Pro Football Focus (PFF) grades and snap counts are in from the Ravens' 27-25 loss to the Buffalo Bills in the Divisional playoffs.
Here's what stood out:
- Lamar Jackson was kicking himself for his two turnovers, saying he should have looked off the safety on his long interception and should have gone down after a wide snap led to a fumble when the ball slipped out of his hands. But Jackson also made numerous plays in this game and was the Ravens' highest-graded player. Jackson rallied the Ravens to the brink of overtime, completing 18 of his 25 passes for 254 yards and threw two touchdowns. While the narrative about Jackson falling short in the playoffs will persist in a landscape where quarterbacks are often judged by their record, his individual performance was once again strong.
- Cornerback Tre'Davious White stepped into a larger role after a long third-down completion behind Brandon Stephens on the Bills' first offensive drive. White played a season-high 54% of the snaps in the playoff loss to his former team and was the defense's highest-graded player (81.3). He was flagged for a questionable defensive pass interference but gave up just two catches for nine yards.
- Tight end Isaiah Likely made big-time plays in the clutch, including his sliding 24-yard touchdown late in the fourth quarter. Likely had a team-high 73 receiving yards and the offense's second-highest grade (74.4) behind Jackson. Likely played 80% of the snaps to Mark Andrews' 69%.
- The Ravens didn't lean as much on their heavy formations against the Bills as they did versus the Steelers. After playing 15 snaps last week in the wild-card win, extra blocker Josh Jones had just three snaps versus the Bills.
- Wide receiver Rashod Bateman rose to the occasion with Zay Flowers (knee) sidelined for another playoff game. Bateman made four grabs for 66 yards and a touchdown and had the offense's fourth-highest grade (72.7).
- Cornerback Marlon Humphrey got his lowest grade of the season (44.7). "We didn't play that great in the first half. I, personally, had three or four plays where I just wasn't on my P's and Q's that kind of led to not crazy big gains, but I just didn't do my one-of-11," he said.
- The Ravens had trouble establishing their run game in the first half. Rookie right tackle Roger Rosengarten and left guard Patrick Mekari had the two lowest run blocking grades from PFF. Right guard Daniel Faalele had the offensive line's highest overall grade (69.5).
- Odafe Oweh played 34% of the defensive snaps while Tavius Robinson played 70%, the highest share of the team's outside linebackers. Robinson had a strong game with four tackles, including two for loss, and a 68.1 PFF grade. Kyle Van Noy had the defense's second-highest grade (76.5).
