This is what the Ravens envisioned when they signed Derrick Henry this offseason. The Lamar Jackson-Henry duo is running over opponents and getting straight A's from pundits.
Henry's 91.2 Pro Football Focus (PFF) grade in the Ravens' 31-2 blowout of the Houston Texans on Christmas Day was his highest mark of the season. Jackson's 92.4 grade is his third-best grade of the season.
Henry ran for 147 yards on 27 carries and scored one touchdown. He had 86 rushing yards in the first quarter alone, setting the tone for the game. Henry was so good that even taking a safety in the first half didn't drag his grade down.
Jackson threw for 168 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 87 yards and another score. He did it despite being pulled out of the game early in the fourth quarter and missing 11 snaps. Jackson has posted back-to-back 90+ PFF grades.
Here's a look at the other takeaways from the grades and snap counts versus the Texans:
- Left tackle Ronnie Stanley got his highest grade of the season (85.0) despite going against arguably the NFL's best pass rush duo of Danielle Hunter and Will Anderson Jr. Stanley didn't give up a single pressure in 19 pass blocking reps, per PFF.
- Running back Keaton Mitchell got his first offensive touches of the season. While he didn't find much running room (11 carries, 20 yards), he flashed his speed on a 28-yard screen pass. It was a valuable 17 snaps as Mitchell continues his return from last year's knee injury.
- The Ravens' backups saw more action than usual with a number of starters being pulled early in the fourth quarter. That included quarterback Josh Johnson (11 snaps), guard Ben Cleveland (seven snaps), wide receiver Anthony Miller (eight snaps), and six snaps each for rookie safeties Beau Brade and Sanoussi Kane and rookie cornerback T.J. Tampa.
- Tight end Mark Andrews has been on a tear lately, as he scored a touchdown in a fifth straight game. He also got his best grade of the season (89.4). Andrews used his chemistry with Jackson to break free for a 67-yard gain.
- Outside linebacker Odafe Oweh got his highest PFF grade (73.6) since Week 6 against the Washington Commanders. Oweh had a sack and four pressures on 23 pass rushes.
