Ravens running back Justice Hill suffered a concussion in Saturday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers that could also sideline him for Wednesday's game against the Houston Texans.
Hill landed hard on his head when he got upended along the sideline at the end of a 25-yard run in the second quarter.
He wasn't moving at first as teammates waived over medical attention. The play happened on the Ravens sideline and help was there immediately.
After a brief break, Hill was back on his feet and walked off to the locker room. He was ruled out shortly thereafter.
"We were all grateful to see him get up and walk off on his own," said fellow running back Derrick Henry, who rushed for 162 yards on 24 carries.
"We were worried there for a minute, because he was just lying there. Justice, that's my brother, and I'm glad to see that he was able to get off on his two feet, and I'm glad he's doing well. That was a scary moment."
With Hill out and Keaton Mitchell inactive, the Ravens' only two running backs for the remainder of the game were Derrick Henry and rookie Rasheen Ali.
Hill has been a hugely valuable part of the Ravens offense this season. He has 228 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown, but has been even more valuable as a receiver, where he has a career-high 42 catches for 383 yads and three touchdowns. He's been very dangerous in the Ravens' screen game and a critical piece of the team's pass protection.
With the Ravens playing again in four days against the Houston Texans on Christmas, Hill could have an uphill climb to be active for that game.
"That's a concussion with a game four days from now. So, we'll have to see how that goes," Head Coach John Harbaugh said.
