Rashod Bateman Among Four Ravens Questionable to Play vs. Steelers

Ravens wide receiver Rashod Bateman (foot) did not practice Thursday and is questionable for Saturday's game against the Steelers.

As the Ravens prepare for the AFC North matchup at M&T Bank Stadium, Bateman was a surprise limited participant in Wednesday's practice, then was spotted by reporters with a boot on in the locker room after Thursday's practice.

Head Coach John Harbaugh declined to provide insight on Bateman's injury or potential availability for Saturday's game.

"We'll be in good shape and be ready to roll on [Saturday]," Harbaugh said.

Bateman, who had foot surgery in 2022 and dealt with the effects of it for much of last season, is in the midst of a career-best season and is coming off a two-touchdown game against the New York Giants. He's second on the team in receiving yards (654) and touchdowns (seven).

It would be a big hit to Baltimore's passing offense if Bateman can't play against the Steelers. The Ravens may also not have Nelson Agholor, who hasn't practiced all week due to a concussion and is questionable. Agholor was working out on a side field, however, and Harbaugh said there is enough time for him to clear concussion protocol and play.

Outside linebacker Odafe Oweh (ankle) was a limited participant for the second straight day and is questionable for Saturday. Guard Daniel Faalele (knee) was limited all week and is also questionable against Pittsburgh.

Running back Justice Hill returned to Thursday's practice after being out Wednesday due to a personal issue.

Cornerback Jalyn Armour-Davis (hamstring) did not practice all week and is out against the Steelers. Wide receiver Diontae Johnson was excused from team activities this week and will not play.

Steelers Rule Out WR George Pickens

The Steelers have ruled out wide receiver George Pickens, who will miss his third straight game with a hamstring injury. Pickens did some light individual drills this week but did not practice.

Pickens leads the Steelers with 55 catches for 850 yards, despite missing the past two games. Calvin Austin III has the second-most yards among the Steelers' wide receivers with 452. Tight end Pat Freiermuth has 47 catches for 492 yards and a team-high six touchdowns.

Asked about the possibility of Pickens not playing, Harbaugh said Pickens is a "great player" but that having to deal with injuries is not unusual.

"A player of that caliber is a factor, but they still have other really good players that they'll be playing with, just like we will if some of our guys don't play," Harbaugh said.

Star outside linebacker T.J. Watt will play after suffering an ankle injury in Sunday's game against the Eagles. He returned to limited practice Wednesday and was removed from the final injury report after being a full participant Thursday.

The Ravens have been preparing all week as if Watt was going to play. The All-Pro with 11.5 sacks (tied for third most in the league) will match up primarily against Ravens rookie right tackle Roger Rosengarten.

Pittsburgh also ruled out backup quarterback Justin Fields due to an abdominal injury. Fields has been an effective wrinkle for the Steelers since Russell Wilson took over as the starter, and hurt Baltimore with a couple late runs in their previous meeting. Kyle Allen will be Wilson's backup.

Starting Steelers safety and former Raven DeShon Elliott is doubtful to play due to a hamstring injury. He did return to practice as a limited participant on Thursday, however. Starting cornerback Donte Jackson is questionable due to a pinched nerve in his back. They have been critical pieces of Pittsburgh's secondary this season.
