What the Browns Said After Beating the Ravens

What the Browns Said, Week 8

Head Coach Kevin Stefanski

On Baltimore's last drive:

"Anytime you're playing that offense and that quarterback, he's outstanding. It's going to be a challenge. And it's a challenge because he can hurt you with his legs, he can hurt you with his arm, obviously. And just, we had our three timeouts, so tried to use them and give our guys a break and talk through with our coaches, with our players, what the situation was, what we were trying to accomplish in those moments and ultimately, we came through. It was a scary final play."

On defending Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry:

"It's an easy game plan to tell you what we're going to do, it's hard to execute. And I thought the guys really, and just go back to last week, what our defense did against a really good offense this week. I mean, they're going to make their plays because they got good players. But I thought [John Harbaugh] called a great game. Had the game plan that you need to stop that team, and we outlasted them."

On Kyle Hamilton's near interception:

"I think the throw just got away from Jameis. Elijah (Moore) ran a good route. I thought Elijah played well today. Yeah, that's this game. I mean, this game's hard and they're going to make their plays, we got to make our plays and sometimes the ball's hanging in the air. I thought the tip ball that Shelby (Harris) had, I thought that ball was up there for ages. So probably takes a couple years off the life."

QB Jameis Winston

On the Ravens blitzing:

"We did a great job up front. Guys got open. And when you are able to be efficient in a running game, staying good down in distances, you're able to kind of slow down that pressure and you're able to kind of attack them a little bit, not play into their hand."

WR Cedric Tillman

On his game-winning touchdown:

"I was in a coverage with a safety. I knew I had to make a play. Jameis always says he's going to throw it; he's going to come back to me. We did that and we executed at the end."

On scoring right after a potential interception:

"We always say next play mentality. You have to scratch it and move on to the next play, and we executed the next play."

S Rodney McLeod Jr.

On the Ravens' last drive:

"We knew they were the number one offense in the league. We knew it was going to be a fight and tough plays were going to be made, but we just had to fight and be resilient. We just kept finding those key plays that helped us to win, so it definitely feels good to shut down that final drive and win our first game at home."

On the sun being a factor:

"I am going to be honest I knew it was going to be a factor in warmups. We were catching deep balls in warmups and you can see the sun be effective with the glare. You can definitely say that the sun was a factor during the game."

WR Elijah Moore

On Hamilton's dropped interception before the game-winning touchdown:

"The football gods were with us today for sure."
